I know, it has been a really, really long time since I last posted here, and to be honest I didn't think that I would again. You see I read this little book called Twilight and all of a sudden this whole new world opened up to me. I fell in love with the story and the characters and I wanted more, so I started a Twilight Fansite and then a Twilight forum for Aussie Mums and the website for that followed soon after. All of which, along with my partner and 5 kids have keep me quite busy for the last year.
So what am I doing back here? Well.... my eldest Chloe was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last October, it has been a huge adjustment for Chloe and our family but everything has been going well. She has adjusted amazingly to giving herself 4 insulin injections each day, watching the food that she eats and just managing all the day to day stuff that goes along with diabetes!
But now we have had a spanner thrown into the works! We just had confirmation that she also has Coeliac Disease, which means that she can no longer eat anything containing gluten. So now she is on a carb controlled, low sugar, low fat and no gluten diet..... hmmm this is a little overwhelming!
Anyway, I have decided to get this blog back up and running again so I have a place to put the information and recipes I find as we go on this little journey!
Any input would be greatly appreciated from anyone who is also on the gluten free or diabetic journey :)

That is quite a lot for one child to have to deal with. Look forward to reading more about your journey.
I have a 4yr old type 1 diabetic. Diagnosed Nov 2008. He's on an insulin pump now which is awesome!
Good luck with everything! Hope your LO is doing well.
Sorry to hear about the challenging times you all are going through. I imagine it must feel overwhelming at times. My daughter (25 y.o) eats dairy-, egg- and gluten-free. On her blog she has food tips and gluten-free recipes. Maybe something there will be helpful. http://weirdandsurprisinglygood.blogspot.com/search/label/GF%20and%20Dairy-free%20Recipes Sending (((HUGS))) your way.
I hope she is getting on well??
how are you going with managing the coeliac and diabetes in your daughter? my three year old was diagnosed with coeliac disease in march, and its been a major learning curve since then. thank god i have twilight to escape to when it all gets too much! :)
