Works For Me Wednesday - Freezing Food Flat

Freezing food flat works for me. It not only keeps the freezer looking neat and tidy but it also helps to find what you are looking for easily.

What I do is put the food into a zip lock bag, I use the large bags so I fold them in half and lay it in a plastic container. I put the container in the freezer and when the food is frozen solid I take it out of the container and put the bag standing up in the freezer.

That's what works for me :)

I love that tip! Thank you!

My freezer is a mess of stacked, frozen, lumpy bags.

This is a keeper.

That is such a simple idea, yet I never thought of it! Thanks!

I also never thought to freeze my meat in the marinade. I think I'll try that.

It took me a while to start doing it too, I was inspired once when I was hunting through looking for something and it was buried at the bottom :)

I admit that I don't freeze my meat in marinade as much as I should. It is so nice to just pour it into a pan and cook it, rather than preparing it all first :)

I also find that it defrosts much better in the microwave if it is frozen flat.
