I heard of a great tip for smaller kids birthday parties when they want to have a sleepover party but are still to young.
Make the sleepover party during the day. The guests can come in their Pjs and bring a sleeping bag and pillow. You can do everything you would normally do at a sleepover except sleep, (that's the boring part anyway!) eat pizza and popcorn, play games and curl up in your sleeping bags and watch a DVD.

We have had pyjama parties (as opposed to sleep overs) here too for a few years and they have been a great success with my daughters and their friends.
My daughter went to one those last year (kindergarten). They girls had a ton of fun. The mom did their nails and gave out dream catchers as part of the goody bag.
I can't wait til my daughter is old enough to have sleep over parties.. I have such fond memories of parties when I was young.. :) Thanks for the ideas!!!
That is a gorgeous idea! My preschooler would think that this was so special.
Super idea! My daughter is nearly 8, and she's so grumpy if I let her stay up too long. She's been asking for a sleepover. This is perfect!
What a WONDERFUL idea! We don't let our kids do sleepovers, but this would be a great compromise!
We did this for my firstborn's 5th birthday. But as an added twist, she insisted on a puppy theme. So it turned into a Puppy Pajama Party. All the guests (it was co-ed) came in their jammies with a stuffed animal; the birthday girl wore puppy-themed pajamas. We decorated with the photos on a puppy-themed wall calendar: 12 photos! I downloaded puppy-themed music (Puppy Love, etc.) to play, and we hid small toy dogs in a bin of rice that the kids had to dig through while being timed. We also played Bozo buckets with Beanie Baby puppies. To wrap up, the kids all watched 101 Dalmatians. The favors, of course, were dog themed, too. And it all finished before bedtime. So fun...her friends still talk about it!
I love this idea! My kids are still too young even for this, but I will keep it in mind!
