I don't know what it's like at your house but the thought of asking my children to clean their bedrooms sends a shiver down my spine and an ache in me head! My kids sleep two to a room so when they are in their rooms cleaning up there are always fights. Somebody is always cranky because they are doing all the work and the other is sitting around doing nothing. A cleaning session almost always ends in tears. So I have come up with a game that gets their bedrooms tidy and keeps all the kids happy.
I go into each room and write down 6 things that need to be done. Things like:
#1 - Pick up clothes and put them in the laundry
#2 - Pick up books and put them on the shelf
#3 - Collect all the rubbish
#4 - Put pens, pencils and textas away
#5 - Put the playstation things away in the cupboard
#6 - Collect toys and put them in the toy box
Then I gather the kids up, grab a dice and one by one they roll the dice to see what their job is. They go into their room one at a time to do their job and when they are done they come out and the next child goes in. Because I have 4 kids (not including the baby) in 2 rooms they have a competition to see which bedrrom can be tidied the fastest. It works for me!!!

Great ideas!
I love the roll the dice idea and I think that would definitely work in my house. The competition thing might not, as the older two definitely know how to take short cuts and would do so to win! :)
Great idea! I love it!
LOVE this idea! I will have to file this away in memory bank.
Competing to clean, I love it!
I like this idea! My kiddos have separate rooms, but I could definitely use it for the other rooms in the house that they are to help with! Thanks for the idea!
This is incredibly clever. I especially like the part about sending one child in at a time. Excellent.
