I was sick of hunting around the house for some coloured pencils or a ruler or a glue stick when the kids were doing their homework and had left their pencil cases at school. So at the beginning of the year while we were buying all the school supplies I bought some extra bits and pieces and put them into a special box which has become our homework box. We have also made a rule that the contents of the homework box must stay at the dining table (which is where all the kids do their homework) otherwise all the little bits and pieces will dissappear.
And here is a photo of the box after I organised it:

great idea! we are always hunting for what we need...i'll have to try this one.
That looks like it would work for me! Fabulous idea.
We do something similar, and it really has helped save us time when it comes to doing homework!
That's a great idea! I am always scrambling for supplies when the kids have a project due. I'll have to put together a homework box. Thanks for the great tip!
Great idea! We are the same in our house. Never find a pencil when we need one. Thanks for the tip!
I love that! I'm going to make a box today!
I love that idea! We don't really need it yet since my oldest is only in preschool, but I will definitely keep it in mind for next year and beyond.
Plus, buying the supplies at the beginning of the school year means you can probably get good deals.
