Works For Me Wednesday - Potty Party

If you have been reading my blog this week you will notice a common theme...... yep...... it's Potty Party week in our house. My son is 3 and a half years old and has shown no interest in the potty at all. So to get him excited we are holding a potty party all week!

We have all been making a big fuss about him, giving him a lolly when he sits on the potty, 2 when he actually does a wee, he has a Dora sticker chart and gets to put a sticker on the chart and we blow up a balloon everytime he does a wee in the potty and hang it on the loungeroom window. We have party food as a snack in the afternoon, on Monday we had corn chips and salsa, Tuesday we had cupcakes and today we will be having coloured popcorn.

So far he is doing fairly well, so I think it will be a success, so that is what works for me this week :)

Congrats on the successes so far! We tried to work on it earlier this week, but it miserably failed. I decided to try again after Christmas.

What a great idea to actually have a potty party! We did crazy dances with fun music a lot over the past few weeks. I am at the finish line with potty time myself. Potty training is tough stuff isn't it! If you want to see another mom in the trenches of it you can check out my blog.

Good luck with the potty party! I can't wait for the day we toss our diapers for good, and I'm sure we'll be stealing the Potty Party idea when Baby is ready! Thanks for sharing.

Something about boys! I had two and they took forever trying to learn. My girls taught themselves before they were two. Good idea! We used to make them sit on their potty when we sat on ours, that was our potty party.

So glad SOMEONE is having success with potty training! My 3 year old daughter knows how to use the potty, but she just forgets & lets it sneak up on her. We keep telling her she can wear her Dora underwear when she keeps her Pull-Ups dry . . . we're still waiting :). She, of course, keeps them dry at preschool :)
